Where Things Are At With Edwin

Hello friends,

Thank you for your continued support and prayers. It has been a busy time for me since I wrote you last as I am finalizing my research thesis and hope to finish very soon. Please keep me in prayer.

I also wanted to share an update with you on Edwin; the young man who we have been helping to get treatment for chronic myeloid leukemia.

We had another check up in Nairobi last week as well as getting more medicine for his cancer treatment.

While we were in Nairobi we were so blessed to have several students from the village come by and lend their moral support and encouragement to Edwin. These are village men who are now studying in Nairobi.

We are encouraged by the doctor's report. Edwin's immune system is responding well to treatment so far. We give praise to God for this encouraging report.  We also want to thank you so much for your prayer support and your financial support.

Our next trip to Nairobi will be in early June. We thank you in advance if you are able to help with any of the needs (travel, food, shelter). God bless you and please continue to pray.

You can help raise awareness of the Missions of Hope by using the share buttons at the bottom of this post. Thank you!

  5. Dear readers,
If I may, I would like to share an experience that I just had. I went to this mission conference at my church, this speaker's wife gave out m&m's, the speaker asked the audience for the people to stand, then he asked if any of them shared, one shared out of all, then he asked who in audience liked m&m's I really shook my head, I was close to the front, he told me to stand up, he then prayed that he God would meet all my needs......, he then went up on stage, he said, we pray, having the means, but do not give. He then gave me the really big bag of m&m's, they went on break, he told people if they wanted m&m's to see me, well, I started giving out big handfuls of my m&m's. then, the people started to give out their m&m's. So with the one big ten dollar bag of m&m's it Blessed the whole church, there was over 100 people there, almost everyone got some. People, this is a great lesson, this is what we are supposed to do, we give, then they give and then the whole crowd gets Blessed, in what ever means you can. It was amazing to watch! Two things, when we give to the poor, we are giving to the Lord, next in 2nd Corinthians 9:6 But this I say (Paul): He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully. So let each one give as he purposes in his heart, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver. Amen

  6. Jonah,
I just want to add two things, to what I said yesterday, First, Ten minutes before the pastor gave me the bag of m&m's I had nothing, it was like the guy could represent God, he provides. That was not my bag of m&m's!! I took what was given to me, and shared it. Second, I want to say again, that this could include anything, I help out sometimes at the mission house where we get clothes and food, to then be gone through and given out a couple of days later, well, they get a lot of clothes, so when they get their shelves full, they give it to a thrift store to help women in crises, then, they put it on their shelves, or give it to the abused women, Then when women get their feet on the ground, they pass it on. Same with food, time, any talent that God gives you, he wants to use and have multiply!
God, may we be good stewards of what you give us,and may you multiply it, so it can go from one person to the next, so all can be Blessed! Amen.
