Our Bishop Passes

The death of our bishop Rev. Dr. Ronoh of the Africa Gospel Church who died on Thursday (22nd July ) has really hit us in a big way, as a church. I had a chance to visit the home and sign the condolence book today. The book is placed near his office.

We want to ask you to pray for his family and friends who continue to visit the family home to offer condolences to them.

The bishop, Dr. Ronoh, was an astute leader who never favored any one side. We are praying that all will be well especially for his family and the entire church.

Our love and prayers are there for this dear family and your prayers are greatly needed.

God Bless

A Sure Foundation

So this is what the Sovereign LORD says:
"See, I lay a stone in Zion, a tested stone,
a precious cornerstone for a sure foundation;
the one who trusts will never be dismayed.

Isaiah 28:16 (NIV)

Hello friends, The church building that was started in 1957 finally has a roof on it! Praise God.

The pioneers of this church are glad to see the fruits of their labour. The church building was started by just six people and we were so glad to see them with us.

Rev. Nathaniel arap Korir, who studied in the USA in the early 1960's saw it fit to come home and start this church. He really loves his people and came to minister with us. He was also the Assistant Bishop and he established more churches, too. This church is exceptional because it is Rev. Nathaniel's home church and he worships there each week. His daughter who is a high school principal was also present at the official opening. She marvelled at the beauty of the church and shed some tears in her joy.

The guest of honor was the former President of Kenya, His Excellency Daniel arap Moi and the church was dedicated by the Bishop Dr. Joseph Rono.

Today we didn't have rains as usual and it made the ceremony go well. The new church building is located just across the road from the second largest tea plantation in the world, Finlay Tea company and Unilever tea.
