Answers to Prayer

Years ago I brought different friends to this place near Marigat, Kenya,  to see the need for water and a borehole. We prayed mightily for water to be made available.

It was in 2009 when I first wrote about this project.  Read and see about the early part of the story here. You can read more about the developments in the water project here too.  Now at last we can say that this water project is complete! Praise God. We thank the funders from Israel who finished this project and the Ministry of Energy for installing it.

We stand amazed and grateful for this gift of God and the people in Israel.

Many people have been involved in this project from the very beginning. We want to thank those people for their financial and prayerful support.  The people of this dry place near Marigat, Kenya will be forever grateful.  Sometimes answers to pray take time. Times of Drought

Hello friends,

I have been out in Marigat, Kenya distributing food to the less fortunate in our society. These pictures that you see of the Marigat area, should make you to feel better off and blessed where you are.

Please continue to pray for rain in this part of Kenya.

We are also pleading that you help these people establish a small church for their members.

In the last two pictures you can see Thomas and I standing on what is supposed to be a shelter.  But it is a church for these guys.

Drought has brought hunger and tensions between community members in some parts of Kenya. Recently we did a food distribution to try to help bring healing to one community.

Visiting the Borehole

Hello,

It has been a while since I updated my blog. Here is a little of what I've been doing recently.

In early December, I was able to visit the borehole that we drilled three months ago near Marigat. I am still waiting to see if we can get a pump that will help us in getting this water to people so they can use it.

The borehole is a prominent reminder that water exists here in this dry and arid place. It is just waiting to be pumped to the people of the area who are spread out over a vast area.

This water project is near and dear to my heart.

Please continue to think about this project.

I was also able to visit the Lake Bogoria National Park which is located a close distance to where the borehole is located. I loved it!  The Soi Resort is also close by and is situated on the banks of Lake Baringo. There are many things to do here, including taking a guided boat trip to view the local wildlife.

Fishermen supply the boat tour guides with the fish to feed the African eagles.

The Lake Bogoria Spa Resort is also close by and is a few minutes drive from the Lake Bogoria National Park.

A local woman sits by one of the geyers at the lake. The water is extremely hot and many tourists boil eggs in it while they take in the sights.

Local wildlife can be seen in the park.

Just imagine that you can visit all these great places in a span of a half hour or less from the water point! You need to come and visit with us and see these sites for yourself.

Update on the Marigat Well Project

Hello,

I made a quick trip today to Marigat to check on the progress of the water project. I am glad to report that we have a lot of water in this borehole.  It is enough to serve over 5000 people and lots of animals.

We will be test pumping for the next 24 hours at the same rate.

Please pray for the gentlemen who are working on this. The next steps in the project are to write the report, and test the water to see if it is good for use by humans and animals.
