Edwin's Story

The young man's name is Edwin and he is 21.  Recently,  Missions of Hope has helped Edwin to have a Bone Marrow Aspiration test done at the Aga Khan Hospital in Kisumu, Kenya.

The medical report says that Edwin has a massive hepatosplenomegaly and is recommended to have a peripheral smear for conclusive opinion of Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. This is a serious condition and he needs help for further diagnosis and treatment as soon as possible.

Most Kenyan families cannot cannot afford the cost of medical testing and treatment. Edwin's mama has already sold almost everything they own to get her son the help he needs.

We pray for someone who could help Edwin and his family to continue getting the medical help he needs for a final diagnosis and to get medical treatment as soon as possible.  The more people who know about Edwin, the better chance there is that he will get the help he needs.

We are asking if you would share this story as widely as you can.  If you look at the bottom of this post you will find share buttons. It is very easy to share this story on Facebook and Twitter or via email with your friends.  You can even write a post about Edwin for your own blog and share it with your friends.

If you can help this boy directly with your finances, please let us know or simply send your gift to kerichojoy[at]gmail[com] via Pay Pal. We also value your prayers.

Thank you so much!

UPDATE: FEBRUARY 29, 2012
I will be taking Edwin to the doctor tomorrow (Thursday) to discuss his preliminary test results and next steps. Please keep us in your prayers for the miracle we need for his treatment and healing.
God bless.

Friends are Blessed with Children

My friend Ken and his wife have been blessed with twins after waiting for close to 5 years. What a gift since we had prayer with them last November.

I was so excited to visit with them while I was in Bomet, Kenya recently. His wife wife will be full term in one month. It is so exciting for me to see how God blesses His own.

We had training for the youth today. It was quite challenging as we had older folks leading the youth who are so young and educated as compared to them.

Pray that this group will come along and be of help to the dear ones they lead.

Have a great day.
God bless

A Pilot Friend Takes a Wife

Hello,

We had a great day today. There was a wedding of a friend of mine named Joshua. He is a pilot. Then we also spent time with the youths at the Chagaik Arboretum. We really had a great day; a full day. One of encouragement and love for each other.

We had a small distraction of rain but all ended fine. The cake was interesting with a picture of a plane on it. What a great surprise from Joshua. Though of course I am happy for my friend, I miss spending time with him even now.

Otherwise I wish him and his wife a happy family.
Enjoy the pics.
