Visiting the Samburu People

Hello,

I had a short visit to the Samburu people in the Maralal region of Kenya.

Near Marsabit, Kenya. Can you see the zebras under the shade of the trees?
Another photo near Marsabit, Kenya.  This time people are sitting on the grass.
At Maralal Safari Lodge, Kenya.
Having a drink of mursik (curdled milk made in a calabash).with lunch.

Our goal was to see the need for development in an area where less than 2% of the population receives an education.  This is a place where even the Mayor of the town we visited is starting grade one!

This region is really lacking in development though I found countless NGOs in the county.

The bulletin board at the lodge is full of information for the traveller.

My assessment of the county is that it needs prayers,  schools and water.

One good thing I did see is that someone started a greenhouse in the region. That was a happy moment for me when I saw the greenhouse.

The greenhouse.
In pastoral communities you see goats everywhere. These ones are grazing by the water tanks  which are located near the greenhouse..
It's great to see tomatos growing here!
Here I am with with my Samburu guide.
Enjoy the pics and please pray for these dear people.

Enjoying Sports

... let us run with patience
the race that is set before us ...
Hebrews 12:1-3

Sports is here to be enjoyed by those who are able to participate.

Our time today with Christian colleges was great. We played our games very late into the evening. It was past 7:00 p.m. when we finally finished.

We enjoyed every part of it.

The schools which participated in the games included: Kabarak University, PACC, NGST, and Moffat.

With shoes or without shoes, we all enjoyed the games.

God bless

The Sanctuary is Rising

Hello

Our new church building in Kepchurbet is coming up and we are so happy! We want to encourage you to help us, with just $15 you can help get good pews for our church.
We are looking forward to fundraising for the chairs and windows. Please continue to pray for us.

It is over 40 years since the sanctuary was started. We are finally getting somewhere and we are so glad. The school is getting a facelift too. The school is in the photo below (with blue doors).

We are looking forward to having a better future for the kids there and for us, as church members. You can read more about my home church and see some before photos here and here.

Otherwise enjoy the pics.
God bless.
