Our Bishop Passes

The death of our bishop Rev. Dr. Ronoh of the Africa Gospel Church who died on Thursday (22nd July ) has really hit us in a big way, as a church. I had a chance to visit the home and sign the condolence book today. The book is placed near his office.

We want to ask you to pray for his family and friends who continue to visit the family home to offer condolences to them.

The bishop, Dr. Ronoh, was an astute leader who never favored any one side. We are praying that all will be well especially for his family and the entire church.

Our love and prayers are there for this dear family and your prayers are greatly needed.

God Bless

Politics, Povety and Prayer Conference

This is another day at the conference here in Nairobi, the conference that is sponsored partially by http://a-asr.org/

Today we had great presentations and later my friend Dr. Eliot Toffa from Zimbabwe, who works at the University of Swaziland had to leave.

I will miss him so much as we were the 'young' scholars together at the conference.    We had lunch and dinner together almost the whole time he was here at the conference.

I showed him around Nairobi, before he went to Hotel Jaffers for a rest before his long flight tomorrow morning.

He has invited me to the Kingdom of Swaziland and I hope to visit him at the university there soon.

Politics, Poverty and Prayer

Hello,

I am in Nairobi this weekend attending one of the premier conference on research in politics, poverty and prayer.

I have been able to interact with so many people here and for sure, it is such a great conference.

There are participants here from many countries.  Nigeria has the largest representation, followed by Kenya, Uganda, South Africa, Botswana, Swaziland, Thailand, Brazil, Jamaica, Taiwan, Sweden, Finland, England, Germany, Israel and many other countries including the US.

Most of the presenters at the conference hold PhDs and are long-serving professors while, others are aspiring to get doctorates.

A Weekend of New Beginnings

The graduation ceremony at Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology (NEGST) went well.  The graduate is here.

Dr. Tokuboh Adeyemo was on the lips of everyone as he he died in March of this year. The Governing Council Chairperson reminded us of the work that Dr. Adeyemo did for the college and encouraged the students to emulate him. He was such a great encouragement to many of us in Africa and the whole world as a whole. Read more about him (picture below) here.

I will going back to NEGST in a weeks time for the conference indicated here
http://nairobiconference.org/NairobiConference/Home.html. Please pray the conference will be a success and a blessing and that those who attend will journey safely to and from home.

Coming back from the graduation I had a chance to attend an after party for a friend who got married on the same day. It was so much fun.

Have a great day and God Bless

School Visit

Hello,
We visited several schools today and interacted with students. We learned about their fears and the challenges they have in school.
We visited primary school and the boys only school.

We realize that the students are working really hard and we are hoping that the they will pass in their education.
Please continue to pray for them as they prepare for their final exams coming in the few months.
I love these students. they are such a blessing group.

Enjoy the pictures.

Friends are Blessed with Children

My friend Ken and his wife have been blessed with twins after waiting for close to 5 years. What a gift since we had prayer with them last November.

I was so excited to visit with them while I was in Bomet, Kenya recently. His wife wife will be full term in one month. It is so exciting for me to see how God blesses His own.

We had training for the youth today. It was quite challenging as we had older folks leading the youth who are so young and educated as compared to them.

Pray that this group will come along and be of help to the dear ones they lead.

Have a great day.
God bless

A Pilot Friend Takes a Wife

Hello,

We had a great day today. There was a wedding of a friend of mine named Joshua. He is a pilot. Then we also spent time with the youths at the Chagaik Arboretum. We really had a great day; a full day. One of encouragement and love for each other.

We had a small distraction of rain but all ended fine. The cake was interesting with a picture of a plane on it. What a great surprise from Joshua. Though of course I am happy for my friend, I miss spending time with him even now.

Otherwise I wish him and his wife a happy family.
