Our new church building in Kepchurbet is coming up and we are so happy! We want to encourage you to help us, with just $15 you can help get good pews for our church.

We are looking forward to fundraising for the chairs and windows. Please continue to pray for us.

It is over 40 years since the sanctuary was started. We are finally getting somewhere and we are so glad. The school is getting a facelift too. The school is in the photo below (with blue doors).

Ketapa Tea Visit

Malel visited us today with students from his school in Nakuru. Malel went off to school a few weeks ago and I accompanied him and his elder brother.

It was so sweet to see him in the new uniform and he looked so excited.

We are looking forward to his academic performance coming up, and we are really happy for him that he was able to go to high school.

He was able to meet his mother and brother again and it was really sweet,

The tea visit was great for the students. They visited Ketepa (ketepa.com ) and Kitumbe primary school in the Finlay Tea area (finlays.net).

A Love Like No Other ~ My World Tuesday

Hello,

Imagine you are a father or a mother and you gave birth to a child who is not well, and could not stand up for close to nine years. What pain you would have. But the family I am about to tell you about, had such a child and loved him dearly.

The child could not talk, but he would move his eyes. He was happy to see his father and mother and he knew their voices. He was happy when children played too. This is Kiprotich, a precious jewel that will be missed by his mother who loved him the way he was.
I don't want to look or think about the work it will entail to keep such a child; waking in the middle of the night to turn him, cleaning him, etc. but the family loved doing it for their dear one.

That is why God has blessed this family with two beautiful kids, a boy and gal. It touched so many of us to see the strength of this dear family as they laid their loved one to rest.

I love them with all my heart.

It's Raining Blessings - My World

I attended a wonderful wedding Saturday between Dr. Chege and Chepkoech Deisy from Kericho.
The beautiful thing about this wedding is that the bride and groom are from two different communities (tribes), which sometimes do not work together.

As a peacemaker, I made it a point of attending this wedding. I had other things to do in Nakuru as well so this was a perfect time to also attend the wedding.
You can see from the wedding photos, that the wedding itself was so beautiful even though it occurred in February, an odd month for weddings here. But people squeezed in their schedules and attended.

After the wedding ,there was a lot of rain. Floods swept through a market. The rains were torrential as you can see in the photo. Even now it is raining.

What a blessed wedding this was (as in Kenya, rain means a blessing).

Travel to Marigat

Hello,

I had a short trip to Marigat and Kabarnet offices to make official the water that will be drilled soon in Marigat.

My first assignment was to go and visit Pr. Parteleu, who was not able to travel to Marigat on time because his daughter Joan was sick. She had some problems with her stomach and she had been crying all night. Ps. Parteleu said his daughter has a very sensitive stomach and suspects she had drunk unclean water from the dam.

Collected rain water stays in a dam for months or even years and does not 'move' at all, making it a perfect place for germs to multiply.

Our hope is that we can drill this well and have clean water soon so that diseases like this can be controlled.

I am just taking tea at a hotel here in Nakuru, called the Bontana Hotel. Here is a link to more information about the hotel It is a great hotel. You can visit it when in Nakuru, the city where I am sending this email.

Continue praying. I will be meeting the driller again later today. Otherwise enjoy your day.

Soccer in Kenya

Soccer is a big thing in Africa, and Kenya in particular.
I started playing soccer as a past time since I was young. Later, I played it in high school, and I was among the first top defenders on our team. I would play number 2 or three and even 4 well (these are the people at the back near the goalkeeper).

This week i have been supporting a young team that is reaching out to the community from our college. It is such a good team though they still need a lot. We are grateful for what we already have.
Otherwise we wouldn't mind starting a competition that each side can win a cup, or trophy or something like that.

Fire Burns Again in Kericho

Another fire engulfed our village again.
The smoke could be seen more than five miles away as you can see in the pictures.

The smoke was so dark, The tanker had lost control and finally fell over.

Thank God for the brave young men who rescued the driver of the tanker and his boy, and rushed them to the hospital.

Those who were injured in the small saloon car were rushed quickly to the hospital and they are reportedly doing better.

It took less than two minutes before the tank burned and we thank God for the quick action of the villagers who saved their friends before the police and doctors arrived.

Continue to pray for the villages as this is the second tanker in the area that has lost control and there are also many others throughout the country losing control.

We are very glad no one was injured, though a lot of tea bushes were burned.
